Unlocking the power of young people so they can shape their own lives

Reach’s work focuses on building known protective factors to enhance young people’s social and emotional wellbeing, and in turn reduce the development and severity of mental health problems in the future.

Our purpose

We invest in young facilitators to design and deliver transformative experiences for young people.

We connect young people through key conversations to build emotional resilience and courage, uncovering what is holding them back and equip them with tools to set goals, deal with conflict and stand up for what they believe in.

Our school and workplace workshops are 100% led by young people. Our crew of young facilitators are armed with the kind of insight only a young person can truly grasp and gain trust of the young people in their workshops via their own lived experiences.

We do this for thousands of young Australians every single year, creating generations of confident, self-aware, passionate young people, shaping the world to be a better place.

Our impact

Through the delivery of our school workshops, we impact around 25,000 students across 450 schools per year throughout Australia.

‍

Our values

We don't just talk about culture - we live it. These four values shape how we show up for our young people, our team, and each other. Every day.

Stay curious

We are curious without judgement. We challenge ourselves and look for what is under the surface.

Give a shit

We care about ourselves and others.

Be your word

If we say we’re going to do it, we do it. If we have something to say, we say it with care.

Be real

We are authentic and vulnerable. Passionate and honest. We are inclusive and diverse. We create moments of true connection.

Testimonials

Don't just take our word for it. We let our work — and our people — speak for themselves. Here's what some of the folks we've worked with have to say about partnering with Reach.

"Josh, Reagan and Harry were exceptional leaders in the Reach Rookies groups today – a good balance between allowing some fun and then pulling the group in to do the activities, asking an extra question to draw some students out a bit more but not pursuing shyer ones and asking for more detail, allowing the students who had really helpful things to say to talk a bit more and those that just wanted to nod and be quiet to do so, supporting those students who were quietly emotional and sitting out a bit."

The Reach Ripple research Project

The Reach Ripple Research Project is a university-led longitudinal study delivered in partnership with Deakin University. It is designed to examine the long-term impact of Reach programs on past participants, extending beyond immediate post-program outcomes to understand how Reach continues to influence wellbeing, mindset, and life trajectories over time.

The project involves an online survey of adults aged 18 and over who participated in any Reach program between 2015 and 2025. The survey combines validated wellbeing measures with Reach-specific questions to assess sustained outcomes associated with program participation. The research focuses on whether and how Reach experiences continue to shape participants’ lives years after engagement.

Key areas of inquiry include long-term wellbeing and life impact, sense of purpose and belonging, attitudes toward mental health, relationships and community connection, and the cumulative or complementary effects of participating in multiple Reach programs.

The Reach Ripple Research Project provides independent, academically rigorous evidence of Reach’s long-term impact. It strengthens accountability to funders, partners, and the broader community, informs continuous program improvement, and establishes a strong foundation for future research and investment. This project represents Reach’s first academic research partnership in more than twelve years.
