RAMP
Reach and Whitelion have joined forces to develop Ramp, a unique mentoring program for young people living in residential care in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs.
“What I take from the camps are the memories of the friendships I’ve made, the support I was given, but mostly I take away hope for my own future.”
“I really enjoy the support that everyone gives me. The first time I came, it helped change my life forever and I want to do the same for others. Everyone was able to get along and face their fears and when we do it as a group, it’s so much stronger.”
The aim of Ramp is to overcome the disengagement these young people feel and give them experiences that will inspire, challenge and support them to take a positive and proactive approach to their lives.
Each young person has the opportunity to be matched with a mentor, who participates with them in a series of workshops, activities, and a weekend away; as well as sharing consistent and ongoing support.
